Annual Fundraising Dinner

On Friday night, 9 September, VABAA hosted its annual fundraising dinner at Crystal Palace with over 500 guests attending.

The night began with a wonderfully choreographed performance by the performers from Ca Đoàn Hồng Ân to the song Lời hát kinh cầu (Lyrics to our prayer).

The performance kickstarted our spectacular program which this year, we found the perfect balance between staged performances and ballroom dancing to make a fun and interactive night for our guests. Our VABAA president Nathalie welcomed our guests and presented to the audience about the 2 compassion projects VABAA has lined up for the year, to help fund educational resources and a new classroom block to the Good Shepard school for Syrian refugee children and the rebuilding of the medical facility in Kon Tum Vietnam that provides free medical care to the poor people of the central highlands region.

One of the highlights of the night was the popular request for our spiritual advisor Father Liem Duong to showcase one of his many talents and sing for us, in which he did not disappoint, Father gave us a warm rendition of classic song "Sầu lẻ bóng". As the night went on, with our guests enjoyed a six course banquet and took turns on the dance floor to some charming rumba and tango songs. But it was the cha cha and disco songs that really got the crowd going.

After the appreciation awards ceremony where we presented certificates and plaques to our sponsors, including our 2 major sponsors this year: A Maximum Security Shutters and Realtime Business Solutions; we got our guests excited to see who would be our lucky raffle winners of some fantastic prizes this year thanks to Crown Resort, Forever Image and LunchDrop.

At the finale, all of our performers were on stage dancing and singing while our guests were dancing along to the disco music. All in all it was an enjoyable night had by all which also supported our meaningful vision to help severely disadvantaged people in the world. The total amount raised from the AFD was $40,435.00.

We thank everyone for their ongoing support and hope you enjoy the photos courtesy of Anh Vũ Hùng.
